This charming set of two hand-thrown ceramic wall plates originates from the renowned Danish workshop Hildegon, located on the island of Als in Southern Jutland. Founded by the potter couple Hilde and Egon, the studio became famous for its soulful, naive Mid-Century Modern designs.
The set features one plate with a stylized, hand-painted bird—a signature motiv of the studio—and a second plate with an abstract, sun-like geometric relief. Both pieces showcase a beautiful interplay of earthy terracotta tones, deep brown glazes, and vibrant ochre accents.
Typical for Hildegon, these pieces are hand-turned and hand-decorated, embodying the tactile quality of 1960s-1970s Scandinavian studio pottery.
